Events & Activities
At Sholden Hall part of our ethos is to enable our residents to continue undertaking daily living activities and tasks that they would be doing if they lived in their own home. They are supported by our staff to make themselves light refreshments and snacks, continue with light domestic chores, and those interests and hobbies that are identified in their individual life history books.
At Christmas 2015, we had the pleasure of welcoming the deputy mayor of Deal to our home for our open day and Christmas party, where residents were entertained by our regular singer Glenda as Queen Elsa from "Frozen", and father Christmas, assisted by his elves, handed out presents to the residents and families'.
Preparations are in hand for our street party on 22nd April 2016 to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.
In January, we introduced Namaste therapy into the home, with help, support and training from St Christopher's Hospice in London. Namaste is an Indian greeting which seeks to contact the life spirit within each of us. The therapy is particularly helpful for those residents who live with dementia; we have observed amazing results in many of our residents when receiving Namaste therapy, which we provide at no extra cost
